| The mountainous village of Portaria in the Pelion
peninsula, is one of the most famous of all villages in Pelion,

of 650 meters, Portaria is often referred to as the gateway to the
upper regions of Mount Pelion, as well as being a very popular village
with visitors to the ski centre of Agriolefkes, which is in full
operation during the winter season. |
Portaria is the perfect Pelion village in which to
be based, and from here, you can venture out and explore all the
corners of Pelion. It is located just 13km from the city of Volos
at the foot of Mount Pelion.
Portaria is a village filled with beautiful scenery and imagery,
and id filled with many beautiful traditional mansions, spring water
fountains and cobblestone paths, which one can follow and enjoy
a fascinating stroll around the village.

Our traditional mansion is perfectly located to bring
you the best from the village of Portaria. We are located a short
distance from the main square of the village, which is filled with
a charming selection of bars, cafes, tavernas and small shops.
The "Arhontiko Hatziargiri" mansion was built in 1845
and is actually considered the oldest traditional mansion in all
of Portaria. It is also the only mansion that has two lower floors
for the winter season, and one upper floor for the summer season.
This unique combination was built in the traditional style and structure,
such as the Sahnisi, with balconies with many windows allowing in
natural light, and traditionally designed window shutters. |
